DESCRIPTION:Ocean Lovers – Angelfish art show by artist Selva Ozelli for CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change\, Hong Kong celebrates the role of the oceans in our everyday life and inspires action to protect reefs which occupy only 0.1 per cent of the global sea surfaces. But more than 25 per cent of marine biodiversity including Angelfish are supported by them. \nCecilia Lam\, Chief Sustainability Officer\, Director of Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and Director of the Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office at The Chinese University of Hong Kong\, explained\, “Beneath Hong Kong’s towering skyline lies a hidden treasure—rolling mountains and a vibrant sea. Few realize that our waters host a coral diversity surpassing even the Caribbean. At the Marine Science Laboratory of CUHK\, dedicated researchers work tirelessly to restore coral reefs damaged by urbanization and pollution\, breathing life back into the ocean’s fragile beauty while pioneering innovative ways to enhance coral resilience in the face of a changing climate.

SUMMARY:Tidal Shifts – Exploring the Ocean’s Wonder through Art\, Sound and Science
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference\, TIDAL SHIFTS\, will be presented through a transdisciplinary collaboration of partners as an immersive audiovisual exhibition and symposium bridging ocean science\, sound\, art\, and community action to foster Ocean Literacy and public engagement. Inviting participants to explore the Ocean as a source of wonder\, intercultural dialogue\, and shared responsibility\, this initiative is co-created to support Challenge 10 of the UN Ocean Decade — restoring humanity’s relationship with the Ocean — and contributes to SDG 14 and the global goal to protect 30% of marine environments by 2030. This event will include various ocean and climate partners\, working together for the United Nations Ocean Decade through educational programs\, art and multi-sectoral collaborations. Held in celebration of World Ocean Day on June 8\, 2025\, this exhibition brings together active local communities\, photographers and artists to honor the ocean as both muse and vital ecosystem. At the heart of the event is Ocean Talks\, a forum for local communities to exchange stories and discuss pressing issues around ocean conservation. Featuring powerful photographic works and special presentations by three invited artists whose practices reflect their enduring love for the sea\, the exhibition also includes immersive installations and interactive art. Blue Ocean aims to inspire awareness\, deepen understanding\, and welcome new members into the collective effort to protect our oceans.
