DESCRIPTION:Arch Enemy Arts Presents “Common Waters: One Ocean Many Voices” — An Ocean Advocacy Art Exhibition Benefiting PangeaSeed \nPhiladelphia\, PA — Arch Enemy Arts is honored to announce Common Waters: One Ocean Many Voices\, a charitable exhibition on view June 5 through July 12\, 2026 at Arch Enemy Arts\, located at 109 Arch Street in Old City Philadelphia. A portion of exhibition proceeds and visitor donations will directly benefit PangeaSeed\, the nation’s only arts-based ocean advocacy organization. \nPresented during the semi-quincentennial of the United States’ founding\, Common Waters brings together more than 50 contemporary artists from around the world to explore humanity’s relationship with the ocean through the lens of the seven UNESCO Ocean Literacy Principles. Artists were invited to create original works that reflect\, interpret\, or challenge how we understand the sea’s role in climate\, culture\, biodiversity\, and global interconnectedness. \n“At a moment when the United States is reflecting on 250 years of history\, COMMON WATERS invites us to look outward rather than inward\,” says Tré Packard\, Founder and Executive Director of PangeaSeed. “The ocean doesn’t recognize borders\, yet it holds us all accountable. DESCRIPTION:World Ocean Day for Schools provides educators with the inspiration\, resources & activities to engage their students in more meaningful conversations about the ocean. Since its launch in 2018\, World Ocean Day for Schools has focused on increasing ocean literacy in schools. We’ve evolved from a small-scale event with 400 schools to an interactive online festival with over 100k users. We’re proud to be a UN Ocean Decade endorsed project. \nThis year at World Ocean Day for Schools\, we’re exploring blue careers. We want kids to know that\, no matter where they live or what skills they have\, they can work in ocean conservation. We’ll be introducing them to a crew of amazing individuals around the world who will share their stories\, answer questions and hopefully\, make kids think: wow\, that could be me. \nRegistration is free\, and everything you need – teacher toolkits\, lesson plans and worksheets- is downloadable on our website. All you need to do is add your local blue space to the map\, and you’ll be good to go!

SUMMARY:Discovering cetaceans
DESCRIPTION:Free event dedicated to the knowledge and protection of Mediterranean whales and dolphins\, aimed at the students of the Istituto Comprensivo Statale 1 “Spini Vanoni” in Morbegno. The children are the young protagonists of this seminar organized by marine biologists from the voluntary association Rotta Mediterraneo\, hosted by the Civic Museum of Natural History of Morbegno.\nThe initiative was created with the aim of bringing young people who live far from the coast closer to the sea and marine biodiversity\, offering them an opportunity for discovery\, awareness\, and environmental education. During the meeting\, participants get a closer look at Mediterranean whales and dolphins: the characteristics of the different species\, their behavior\, the habitats they live in\, and the main threats that jeopardize their survival today.\nThrough images\, stories\, and the direct experiences of marine biologists\, the seminar provided a moment of scientific dissemination and discussion. The goal was to promote greater awareness of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and the biodiversity of our Mare Nostrum.\nThe event is part of a series of meetings organized by Rotta Mediterraneo as part of the “European Maritime Day in My Country” initiative\, promoted by the European Commission.

DESCRIPTION:As part of World Oceans Day\, and recognizing the ocean as a fundamental component of the environmental and sustainability agenda across its climate\, ecological\, social\, energy\, and economic dimensions\, the Spanish Cultural Center in Costa Rica (CCE) and the Spanish-Costa Rican Network for Science\, Innovation and Technology (RECIT) are organizing a public dialogue to reflect on the importance of the oceans as a source of life\, biodiversity\, knowledge\, and well-being.\nThe panel will bring together three distinguished experts from science\, environmental governance\, and public policy: Odalisca Breedy\, internationally recognized marine scientist and expert on octocorals and marine biodiversity; Katherine Arroyo\, Executive Director of MarViva and specialist in environmental law and marine governance; and Fernando Mora\, expert in climate change\, marine-coastal management\, and sustainability.\nThrough an interdisciplinary conversation that bridges science\, policy\, education\, and marine management\, the event will create a space to reflect on the need to reimagine our relationship with the ocean and to embrace both individual and collective responsibility for its protection and sustainable management.
