The Communication Center for the Oceans-CCOceanos is a series of LiveStream lectures presenting a variety of themes related to the oceans, connecting Portuguese-speaking countries and turning Portugal a hub of sharing up to date information in Portuguese language.
This year the Center for Communication of the Oceans-CCOceanos in institutional partnership with UNESCO-IOC is helding a series of LiveStream lectures under the title CCOceanos: The Ocean Decade bringing together Portuguese speakers and speakers from other Portuguese-speaking countries via LiveStream (remote).
On 8 June - Wolrd Oceans Day - will be held a special session - the 2.ª CCOceanos:The Ocean Decade lecture - under the theme «Climate Change / Predicting the Ocean» joining two Portuguese cientists at the National Museum of Natural History and Science in Lisbon.
Fátima Abrantes - PhD in Geological Oceanography - Paleoceanography by the Graduate School of Oceanography - University of Rhode-Island, USA. Principal Investigator of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
Dr. João Vitorino - Oceanographer of the Hydrographic Institute, holder of a Diplome d’Études Approfondies in Oceanography by the Université de Bretagne Occidental. Responsible for the Monitoring Network of the Nazaré Submarine Cannon.
- The main objective of the Communication Centre for the Oceans-CCOCeanos: The Ocean Decade is to disseminate up to date information and knowledge of the oceans and the objectives of The Ocean Decade.
