Robots sous-marins et biologie

June 06 2019 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

For several years, roboticians and archaeologists have partnered to develop underwater robots capable of studying wrecks beyond the limits of human diving.

After a presentation of current underwater robots and their applications, the recent work of the LIRMMM (University of Montpellier/CNRS) and DRASSM (Department of Underwater Archaeological Research and Submarines, Ministry of Culture) will be detailed. These concern perception (3D models, localization), the design of specialized tools and the removal and handling of fragile objects. Applications in marine biology will also be presented. Many unpublished videos will illustrate this presentation.
