World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup on Siesta Key Beach

June 08 2019 @ 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Come out to Siesta Key Beach on June 8 for our World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup! Beach.com is partnering with Sarasota Country to host the cleanup along with free beach yoga before the cleanup. We will be giving out T-shirts to the first 50 volunteers and providing all cleanup supplies, along with hosting a raffle after the cleanup with prizes donated from local businesses.

This family-friendly event begins at 8 am and ends at 11 am. We're being very careful to not contribute any waste onto the beach through the event. All attendees should wear close-toed shoes and sun protection and bring a reusable water bottle.

We hope to see you there!

Objectives

International Coastal Cleanup - Ocean Conservancy

Harnessing the Power of People to Fight Ocean Trash

The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. The movement was catalyzed by the passion and spirit of two committed individuals. Back in 1986, Linda Maraniss moved to Texas from Washington, DC, where she had been working for Ocean Conservancy.
