We invite you to join us for an outdoor event at POLLYN, a sustainable plant shop and garden cafe under the famous Mona Lisa of Williamsburg mural. As the first plant store in the country to sell all plants in biodegradable nursery pots, POLLYN aims to bring more environmental awareness to the plant industry with the goal of eliminating single use plastics from the retail experience.
We will be closing out Climate Week NYC with a creative program including stunning projections, music, delicious sustainable cuisine, and a unique drink selection in a beautiful open and lush green garden space.
** At sunset, enjoy a delish pop-up food stand by AKUA, serving their infamous Kelp burger sliders! This is the world’s first Kelp Burger, made from ocean-farmed seagreens & mushrooms – a nutritious & delicious plant-based patty featuring a rich umami taste profile and clean-label ingredients.
AKUA creates food products that can feed the planet sustainably while reversing climate change, and restoring health to our world’s oceans. All of their products are made from ocean-farmed kelp, which is one of the most healing and healthy forms of food on the planet.
** You can also learn about local sustainable producers from “ekosfere”, a woman and immigrant-owned company based out of The Bronx, aiming to make sustainability accessible to everyone in NYC. They offer a great variety of products that are organic, vegan, handmade, and in compostable or reusable packaging. ekosfere is known for its delivery of jar refills and for bringing the first permanent zero-waste store in The Bronx. ekosfere also offers composting services and works with local partners to spread awareness on the topic.
