We invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 29 to learn more about the innovative solutions from start-up companies around the world who are making a positive difference for our oceans.
Featuring partners from Ocean Hub Africa and SeaAhead, this event will be organized in partnership with Peace Boat US in celebration of the United Nations World Oceans Week. The theme for 2021 is The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods, and we will showcase companies that are supporting local communities and coastal resilience through their work. To protect and preserve the ocean and all it sustains, we must build a connection to the ocean that is inclusive, innovative and informed by lessons from the past. Today we have the opportunity to make a positive impact and create an environment for sustainable businesses to thrive in coastal areas around the world.
Partners include :
Resolute Marine: Bill Staby, CEO. Our mission is to significantly improve access to water for coastal populations and industrial/agricultural operations in developing countries and small island developing states (SIDS) and to displace the diesel-electric desalination system that are currently in wide use worldwide.
The Addition Company: Anya Freeman, CEO. We are 3D printing living seawalls that function as coral reefs. The seawalls have sensors that track live water quality data and communicate via 5G. We’re also using recycled ocean plastic fibers to reinforce our material and extend the lifetime of the seawall. We are early stage, ready to fund raise.
Duro UAS: Brain Wilson, CEO. Duro uses advanced technology to make data collection easier and more economical. With our suite of advanced monitoring products, we’re proud to offer devices that fix the problems with current market options – the manual data retrieval, closed product ecosystems, and expensive add-ons for what should be standard features.
