Marine litter exhibition "Art from the Sea from Skeleton Sea"

mai 22 2018 @ 10:00 AM - juin 10 2018 @ 6:00 PM

The art exhibition is an original work of two plastic artists and surfers, the German Xandi Kreuzeder and the Portuguese João Parrinha, who build sculptures from marine litter collected from beaches all around the world.

Plastics, hooks, ropes and metal objects gain a new life in large art installations that have already toured the world and now settle at the Pavilion of Knowledge – Ciência Viva, with free entry, between the 22nd of May and the 10th of June. This exhibition is part of the European Project Sea Change (H2020), which aimed at an initiative for direct and sustainable actions that promote a healthy ocean.

Working exclusively with wreckage, scrap and any other trash found on their trips to the beach, the artists create works that express a strong message about their common cause of "keeping the ocean clean!"
