Google Hangout On Air with Three Ocean Exploration Vessels Celebrating WOD June 8th

Celebrate the earth’s Ocean with a trifecta of science and exploration. Join exploration research vessels connecting live for the second annual World Ocean Day Hangout. Ocean Exploration Trust’s E/V Nautlius will be in the Pacific Ocean exploring Canadian waters with Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) and Schmidt Ocean Institute's R/V Falkor will be completing sea trials in the Pacific just off the coast of Oregon. We will also be joined by NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer. Come learn as the three vessels chat with each other giving a behind the scenes look at what it takes to keep a research vessel in operation, and learn more about the exciting underwater robotics and mapping work that they are conducting to better understand our Ocean Planet!

The movement was catalyzed by the passion and spirit of two committed individuals. Back in 1986, Linda Maraniss moved to Texas from Washington, DC, where she had been working for Ocean Conservancy.
