Il mare: passione e opportunità

Giovedì 8 giugno, in occasione della Giornata Mondiale degli oceani, presso la Raffineria di Gela, si terrà l’incontro "Il mare: passione e opportunità". L'incontro ha l’obiettivo di raccontare agli studenti le opportunità che il mare può offrire in termini lavorativi attraverso testimonianze dirette di chi al mare ha dedicato la vita: archeologi subacquei, biologi marini, addetti al turismo di zone marine, Capitaneria di Porto, uomini di piattaforme petrolifere.
Per ognuno di loro il mare non è solo una grande distesa d’acqua, ma un’opportunità e una grande passione.

The all-round watersports competition held in February since 2002, the Master of the Ocean, has organized a festival for the community to include the children from local foundations and provide them with surfing and swimming lessons, as well as wisdom about ocean conservation.

To celebrate World Oceans Day, Peace Boat is organizing the third edition of the Ocean and Climate Youth Ambassadors Programme from May 24 to June 8, 2019. Young leaders from the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Caribbean who are active on issues related to climate change and ocean degradation will travel from Valletta (Malta) to New York (United States) with stops and activities in Motril and Granada (Spain), Tangiers (Morocco) and Ponta Delgada (Portugal). The group will board in Malta which organized the Our Conference in 2017. They also will visit Morocco which hosted COP22 in 2016.
