Since 2014, the UNESCO Campus teams has been organising conference-debates during which young people, aged 14 to 18, exchange views with UNESCO speakers and personalities from civil society on major contemporary issues related to UNESCO’s mandates.
Initially organized at Headquarters, since 2020 an online version (in French and English) have developed in order to open these exchanges to classes around the world. Through the UNESCO Campuses, we put the expertise of UNESCO teams, recognized specialists and our partners at the service of young people to broaden their understanding of global issues, develop their citizenship and enrich their thinking.

The UNESCO Campus “Collective action for the oceans” is a unique event that will comprehend, for the first time, the conjoint participation of six schools of lusophones countries: Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and Cape Vert.

It will be structured around two main themes:

  • The holistic approach to the ocean: reasons to study them and how to protect them.
  •  The importance of a GenOcean (Generation Ocean) to raise awareness, develop knowledge and inspire young people to action to restore and protect the ocean.

The Campus is organised in partnership with the ENGIE Foundation.
