World Oceans Day provides an opportunity to honor, help protect, and conserve the ocean. This year, the Day will convene under the theme, ‘Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean’. Nirmol Bangladesh is going to organize an online program titled “Pollution-free Ocean for Next Generation” on the occasion of World Ocean Day. The online program is on the focus of increasing ocean awareness and creating ocean literacy.
World Oceans Day is June 8, a time set "aside to raise global awareness of the benefits humankind derives from the ocean and our individual and collective duty to use its resources sustainably," as noted by the UNEP. Join Seven Clean Seas with our panel of experts from a diverse range of backgrounds in plastic pollution and the plastic industry as we explore the issue at hand and how to tackle the problem systemically, identifying crucial pain points within the economy of plastics.
Only 400 North Atlantic right whales remain in the world. Their migratory routes run right along the North American coastline—one of our oceans’ most industrialized areas— where commercial fishing gear and busy shipping lanes pose lethal threats. In the summer of 2019 alone, 10 right whales died, and 85 percent of the remaining ones show signs of being entangled at least once.
