Peace Boat, an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations and in partnership with the UN SDG Action Campaign, has carried out global educational and advocacy voyages for peace and sustainability since 1983. Peace Boat is a core member of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Peace Boat is now developing the Ecoship, enabling the reduction of CO2 emissions by 40%, achieving zero SOx and NOx emissions, and recycling 100% of its water and waste.
The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, Venice, in collaboration with various Venetian and national institutions including CNR-ISMAR and Veritas, is organizing a clean-up day for plastic waste that, incidentally or voluntarily abandoned, invade vast lagoon areas as well as the channels of the historic centre of Venice.
The initiative is of a purely civic and educational nature, without any political connotation and open to every single individual or associations that intend to adhere on a personal or collective basis.

Ocean Exploration Trust’s E/V Nautlius will be in the Pacific Ocean exploring Canadian waters with Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) and Schmidt Ocean Institute's R/V Falkor will be completing sea trials in the Pacific just off the coast of Oregon. We will also be joined by NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer.
