According to The Ocean Conservancy, 8m tonnes of plastic is entering the ocean every year. The impact on the ocean is well publicised, and encouraging steps are being taken to eliminate plastic waste and pollution. Ne abbiamo visti perfino sulle vette delle montagne.” (Franco Borgogno - autore de “Un Mare di plastica”)
SeaAhead and Peace Boat US are working together to host two Ocean Innovation 'Free Swims' (June 2 and 9) during UN World Oceans Week 2020. The theme this year is "Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean." We'll hear from sustainable seafood innovators and talk about efforts to decarbonize the shipping industry. And we'll of course leave time for the networking sessions that our Free Swims have become known for.
'Free Swims' are open forums that allow ocean innovators to connect, exchange strategies and resources, get support, and share challenges.
