Founded in 2014, Restore Coral is a subsidiary program under Naturalia. Naturalia is a leader in conservation initiatives in Mexico and has been in action for over 29 years.
Since its foundation, Restore Coral has been specifically accelerating coral restoration initiatives at both local and federal levels. We also promote the implementation of market-based solutions to pave the way for sustainable & restoration tourism.
Restore Coral stands for:
Social innovation focused on education that increases civic engagement for coral preservation
Adaptation of emerging technologies towards the conservation of ecosystems.
Restore coral serves as the strategic facilitator, integrator, and accelerator liaison for various coral projects with the operation support of the Mexican Institute of Fishery and the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education at Ensenada .
In March 2019, the National Commission of Protected Areas requested Restore Coral to join efforts in combating the White Syndrome propagating in the Mexican Caribbean.
