Immerse yourself in marine worlds with all your senses! Dive in is an installative performance with sensory course that invites you to explore the oceanic world with all your senses: 3D sounds and video projections allow you to immerse yourself in the naturecultural sphere of the sea.
In order to make you experience your connection to the sea, Dive in is conceived as an intensive listening experience that stimulates your own body perception. Alternating and referring to each other, both the compositions by Christian Billian and the whale lute sequences recorded by the behavioural scientist and founder of Ocean Sounds Heike Vester can be heard. The sequences are coordinated with the texts set to music in the compositions. In field research today, Heike Vester is pointing out, it is impossible to study marine animals completely uninfluenced by human activity. In the sea, the constant noise of ships, drilling activities, seismic surveys and sonar is omnipresent and affects the behaviour of marine animals enormously. The dancer and choreographer Pilar Buira Ferre translates and accompanies this process through movements in space. With students, she performatively transfers the movement of fish and marine mammals into human movement sequences and builds bridges between the different and yet closely connected worlds.
