University of Milano-Bicocca is located in northern Italy, far from the coasts. Nevertheless, we are fully committed to the oceans’ health and the sustainable use and conservation of their natural resources. We believe in, and are strongly committed to, a peaceful development of a blue economy that is inclusive and fair to the whole society. To this end, we promote constant exchanges of perspectives in the study of the oceans and the sharing of the relevant findings through specific courses, programmes, researches and cooperation at institutional level. On this celebratory occasion, in the first year of the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, our students and young researchers will be sharing in short videos their current activities related to the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, and particularly SDG 14, by offering diverse perspectives taken from the field in different disciplines related to the study of the oceans.
