The Reconciliation festival: Art and Science for a beautiful world  is a new festival, located in Stavanger, Norway. It offers 3 days to experience the power of art as a reconciliation vector between human and nature and to re-think our relationship with nature in a sustainable approach. We have a vision that  art and science together can contribute to build a beautiful world and create greater social bond.

The oceans, its protection, its place in our life, are at the heart of this first edition: Music and Dance in Nature. As the ocean inspired the the choreography “The man and the sea”,  which will be premiered in Scandinavia, in a town by the sea, in a country which has always benefited from the ocean resources, we hope that music and dance will inspire people and change their relation to the ocean.

The festival godfather is the physician and member of the Academie des Sciences, Yves Quéré. Yves Quéré is also a music lover and cellist and has a passion for transmission to younger generations. In 1995, he launched, with Nobel Physics laureate Georges Charpak and astrophysicist Pierre Léna, a renovation of the science Education of children in France, called La main à la pâte (in English : Inquiry Base Science Education, IBSE).

The event on the 27th August is closing the festival but we hope it will be the beginning of a new adventure for all of us. It will include a discussion between Yves Quéré, the artists, the festival participants (in particular the association Clean Shores who is volunteering during the festival) and the public, a piano recital, the premiere of the choreography the man and the sea… The festival wants to be inclusive and invites the public to participate with readings of poems/texts on stage,  free workshop on the role of art and sustainability…more info on www.dengjenfundnetid.com
