The ocean is our biggest ally in mitigating climate change, but it’s also bearing the brunt of the climate crisis. It’s time the ocean takes center stage in the global agenda to protect our blue planet.

The Roundtable series titled, ‘Creating a Common Agenda for our Shared Ocean’, has been designed to foster inclusive dialogue, drive a strong ocean-climate focus on the agenda within the UNFCCC processes as well as other relevant UN processes and global convenings. The Roundtable series is hosted by Oceanic Global in partnership with IOC UNESCO and The Ocean Decade.

Register to join the next Roundtable event on Thursday, 9 March, 2023 which will be held virtually through Zoom. The virtual event will be an interactive discussion to contribute your ocean x climate agenda priorities. We will collectively envision a climate resilient future and identify how to influence existing UNFCCC processes ahead of COP28.

Featured Speakers include:

Joanna Post (Secretariat of the UNFCCC)

Alison Clausen (IOC-UNESCO, UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development)

Courtney Fieldman (UN High Level Champion: SIDS Breakthrough Lead)

To encourage a groundswell of support for the ocean at COP, access to the Roundtable events is free for all who register. In the spirit of growing this community and leading inclusive conversations, this event is open to new registrants. Previous participation is not required.
