June 8 is World Oceans Day, and June is World Oceans Month. In celebration, the SEGO Initiative has curated a series of events in Tokyo and online that are open to all.

The event programming is built around the concepts of “putting the #OceanFirst and zoom into Planet Ocean” and exploring “under the ocean, on the ocean, where the land and ocean meet.” Through projections designed to bring the ocean to the city, in some of Tokyo’s most well- trafficked areas, Meiji Dori and Aoyama Dori, SEGO aims to showcase the importance of World Ocean Day.

Projection event | Thursday June 8th
Time: 7:00am – 11:00pm JST ( GMT 10:00pm June 7  – 2:00pm June 8)

Frequency:  4 times each hour

Locations: Dai 25 SY Building on Meiji Dori

Minami Aoyama MA5  on Aoyama Dori

The ocean’s health is integral to the health of the planet and all those who inhabit it; To explore this further, SEGO has programmed a series of webinars diving deep into our connection to the ocean through music, and culture, the importance of ocean resources, from sea to table, and the relationship between fashion and the sea.

The webinar schedule includes:

June 8 | Marin Naruse Asian Cultural Council Fellow 2022

June 15 | Dr David Costalago Fisheries Expert-Oceana

June 22 | Ms. Runa Ray Sustainable Luxury Designer
