Zebra sharks are species recognized for their uniq

Zebra sharks are species recognized for their unique patterns of stripes and spots, which appear in their young and adult stages, respectively. Their powerful tails can be almost as long as their entire bodies.

In the ocean, the zebra-striped pattern helps protect the small, defenseless pups. Their stripes resemble those of a poisonous sea snake, causing predators to stay away, thinking it might be dangerous.

Interestingly, because of their unique stripes and spots, they are called leopard sharks in Australia and the UK. However, this name should not be confused with the Triakis semifasciata species, which is known as leopard shark in the US.

Thresher sharks are distinguished by their exceptionally elongated upper lobe of the tail fin, which can reach a length comparable to that of their body.

These pelagic sharks exhibit extensive migratory behavior and inhabit both tropical and temperate marine environments.

Their tail, which can be up to half the length of their total body, plays a crucial role in their hunting strategy, primarily used for stunning prey.
