Our Oceans, Our Future

This year, the United Nations Headquarters in New York celebrates World Oceans Day with a special three-hour event, held as part of the 2017 United Nations Ocean Conference, raised awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans and highlighted the most promising initiatives to reverse their decline, focusing especially on the power of creative collaboration and eco-innovation in the successful realization of SDG 14. Features included talks from world-renowned ocean experts and explorers, representatives from coastal communities, and voices from current and future generations.
