FLAD – Luso-American Development Foundation and Ciência Viva launched in 2024 the third edition of the ATLÂNTICO JÚNIOR prize competition, promoting scientific and technological culture by highlighting the Atlantic as a natural system and its role in the sustainability of the planet and society.
On World Oceans Day, the 20 selected projects are invited to the Pavilion of Knowledge in Lisbon to present the developed work. In this edition, the students were challenged to create projects about the following themes:
– Marine renewable energies;
– Marine robots with sensors to measure variables such as salinity, temperature or pH, among others;
– Innovative vessels;
– Technologies and processes that help eliminate or mitigate marine pollution;
– Biotechnology;
– Approaches to preserving biodiversity.
