Clean by Example

Clean by Example is a community-led environmental initiative aimed at engaging lagoon tour operators, dive companies, and other commercial lagoon users to come together for a dedicated clean-up of the motus most frequented during lagoon cruises.

These motus are not only key highlights for visitors but also hold cultural and environmental significance for our people. As part of this event, participants will work collectively to remove rubbish, clear debris, and tidy up the spaces commonly used by both visitors and the local community.

By taking the lead in this effort, businesses have an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship and support the principles of Mana Tiaki — protecting and preserving our little paradise for future generations.

This event is also a platform for raising awareness about responsible tourism and encouraging a shared sense of pride and responsibility among those who operate on and around the lagoon.
