Coastal Walk for Sustainable Marine Fisheries and Environment in Thailand

The Alumni Society of International Ocean Institute (IOI) – Thailand will co-organize an event entitled “Coastal Walk for Sustainable Marine Fisheries and Environment in Thailand” to celebrate the World Ocean Day 2025 in Phuket on Sunday 8 June 2025 and to celebrate the 25th Jubilee Anniversary of IOI Thailand in collaboration with the Association of KU Alumni of Phuket & Phang-Nga, the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (Or-Bor-Jor), the 3rd Naval Area Command, Department of Fisheries (DOF), Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Phuket Municipalities, and local organizations, and partners. Activities consist of opening statements by organizer, co-organizers and partners, stocking of aquatic animals, walking through mangrove forest, and a 2.5 – km walk along the coast. It is expected that about 200 participants from various organizations and local people will join the celebration. This will be a great opportunity to build up public awareness on sustainable fisheries and marine environmental management in Thailand.
