As part of commemorating World Ocean Day 2026, Sana Mare Tanzania, and Mazingira Konekti are organizing an island conservation event under the theme “Islands for Tomorrow: Clean, Conserve, Connect.” The event will take place at Makatumbe Island Marine Reserve and will bring together environmental organizations, community members, youth, conservation practitioners, and ocean advocates to take collective action for the protection of Tanzania’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
