Beach & Reef Clean-up 2025, Papua New Guinea

The monthly Beach & Reef Clean-up 2025 aims to address marine plastic litter. This initiative commenced in March this year and will continue throughout the year in the National Capital District (NCD) and Central Province, PNG. In Bootless Bay, the proposed National Marine Sanctuary in NCD/Central, this initiative is supported by the Loloata Island Resort, 501 Tours, and the University of Papua New Guinea. Next month’s clean-up will commemorate the 2025 World Ocean Day and the Coral Triangle Day in Bootless Bay, which will take place on June 07. This initiative will be extended into other maritime provinces in PNG as a national effort to address marine plastic litter.
