Divers for Climate Official Launch and Film Screening

June 4 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for an inspiring series of events during World Oceans Week, presented by Divers for Climate!

The Great Barrier Reef is currently undergoing its 5th mass bleaching event in just 8 years driven by unprecedented marine heatwaves, and temperate reefs in the south are suffering under temperatures exceeding 3 degrees above average, wreaking havoc on local kelp forests. Climate-driven weather events are further impacting marine ecosystems and the communities that rely on them around the country.

Those who connect with the underwater world are frontline witnesses to these impacts and it’s time for our stories to shine.

Discover the untold stories of divers, tourism operators, and Traditional Owners, through our captivating short-film, showcasing the diverse perspectives of individuals deeply connected to the underwater world.

Date: June 1st – June 8th
Time: 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Locations: Sydney (TBC), Brisbane (TBC), Cairns (Salthouse, June 4th)

Each event will feature a thought-provoking film screening, followed by an engaging Q&A panel discussion with industry experts and passionate advocates who will share their own stories and personal experiences communicating ocean and climate impacts. Explore innovative ways to talk about ocean and climate solutions, and discover how you can play a role in shaping a sustainable future for our ocean planet.

This is an opportunity to connect, learn, and take action for our oceans like never before.

Dive in and join the conversation!
