Join us for a collaborative cleanup between Parley for the Oceans, Ambassadors with Aloha, Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, the City and County of Honolulu, and Sandy Beach Surf Report. Meet at Wāwāmalu (Sandy Beach) on Sunday June 1st at 3pm for an afternoon filled with native planting, invasive species removal, basic landscaping work, cleanup efforts, and education.
Sandy Beach is big, so you’ll find us at the far right hand side towards the Hālona Blowhole. Enter Sandy Beach and then go right all the way to the end where we’ll be working just past the yellow gate. Parking near the gate is tight but there is plenty of parking on the side of the road near the normal Sandy Beach entrance. We are encouraging carpool and public transportation.
We’ll be removing invasive species, nurturing and protecting the native ones, cleaning up the beach, and just enjoying the fruits of our labor.
Please bring a reusable water bottle, reef friendly sunscreen (zinc or titainium dioxide), and positive vibes. If you have any questions, please email kahi@parley.tv.
