The workshop takes place in the framework of the 10th Summer School on the European Union and the Law of the Sea (EULoS) on 30/08/2024. The workshop and the EULoS Summer School is organized by the University of Genoa and the Institute for the Law of the Sea and International Marine Environmental Law (ISRIM), a research institute of the Hugo Grotius gGmbH – non-profit society for the advancement of legal sciences. The workshop will include presentations on (1) International Marine Environmental Law in Time of the Triple Planetary Crisis, (2) The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and its 2024 Advisory Opinion on Climate Change and International Law, (3) The 2023 IMO Strategy on Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Ships, (4) Strengthening Ocean Efforts to Tackle Climate Change, Marine Biodiversity Loss and Pollution, and (5) The European Green Deal — a Package of Policy Initiatives to Combat the Triple Planetary Crisis.
